    Default Streamer Box Suggestions

I've started to experiment with streamer flies. I'm looking for suggestions for a box to carry them in from you guys that carry them with you regularly. I don't think I've ever owned a box just for streamers.
    Thanks,
    Bruce

    Bruce,

I found some clear plastic photo cases like these work well:

put a piece of 4mm foam in the bottom, cut some slits with a razor/straightedge and off you go.

    Regards,
    Scott

I like the Cliffs Bugger Barn.

You might want to take that for what you paid for it though, as I don't actually carry one these days. My son does, and I still have a couple. But everything I'm tossing these days is small and smaller it seems, so the Bugger Barn just isn't necessary. But if I was carrying around streamers, that's likely the box I'd go to.

I second the bugger barn. I love tying and fishing streamers my Cliffs Bugger Barn goes with me every outting. I will post a picture of it today its amazing how many flies the thing holds. It has everything in it from articulated streamers to single hook stuff depending on what section of a river I am on. Its also the only box I take with me for the smallmouth which accounts for the majority of my days in between trout outtings. They are also relatively inexpensive but quality made right here in the USA. I carry weighted and unweighted depending on what line Im using but the majority of my streamer fishing is done with a sink line and unweighted flies.

    Be back shortly with photos,
    Richard

I use Art Bin boxes, Same company makes the Cliff's boxes without the abhorent jacked pricing to make killing! Plus it clear and not colored and a sheet of 6mm foam trimmed to fir the box and spray adhesive and got a nice box to hold them. You can find them at Jo Ann Fabric.
Like me I have a extra foam cut out for a pull out center for more flies.

Hey Scott, How long are those photo boxes? I can't figure out the numbers they provide in the link. That's a good idea.

    Bruce,

Here's step-by-step for the DIY box:

The foam door-hangers I use alleviate the need to do all the trimming.

    Scott,
Nice step by step. BTW, if that closure breaks, have you given a thought to Velcro?
