Nice project Kevin, I like your attention to detail. I was only going to add one thing for those who have limited tools. For the base you can use a Gladiator wall mount. This item is used to store tools and such on walls. However by laying it flat on a table it can be used as an adjustable rod wrapper. Groves are already made within the part. By using a carriage bolt and auto flat washer you can make your adjustable base. The carriage bolt will go through the base can be tighten by wing nut. If you have something like a flex coat wrapper, all you need is four holes. Two for the pegs of the upright stand and two for the carraige bolts from the stand.
