    Default dry/wet fly dubbing

If I put some dubbing in a glass of water and it floats, will it do it on the stream? I have lots of little dabs of dubbing that I can't remember what it is(slapping forehead). Some of it is pretty self-evident, the coarse stuff and the fine stuff, but there are a lot of borderline dabs.

did you roll into a dubbing noodle or just left it natural. best way to test is to dub some on thread then put in water on thread and leave it for an hour.

Why not put some fly floatant on it as well? Muskrat fur sinks pretty quickly. Thats why we put hackle on the hook to make an Adams float.

With modern floatants, you can float almost any dubbing on the market. So unless you are using something like Quick Descent, you should be fine. The more important question is does it look right to you, and will, as DUB stated, the other materials used float the fly. Antron for example does not float all that well but Stimulators work just fine despite its "shortcomings."
