I am considering this rod for a grandson to learn with. Does anyone have experience with it ? What do you think of it, it would have to be ordered by the local people and I am unable to physically try one.
Thanks folks

Sorry I can't help you on the rod, I didn't even know Airflo sold rods. I did however google it, what a cool idea! A little 6 weight with downsized grip for small hands. Cool! You have me thinking now
Lauder,
I have no knowledge regarding the Airflo rod, but, a good choice for the younger fly fisher, or someone with a small hand is the Temple Fork Outfitters Bug Launcher rod. It is made with a smaller grip. The 7 foot is a 4/5 weight, great for brookies and the 8 footer is a 5/6 weight. The cost around $80 and carry the TFO Lifetime Warranty, something to think about with a younger fly fisher who is just learning.

These Airflo rods have been on the market in NZ for a while now, I have not tried the Brookie myself but I can tell you Airflo rods are gaining good reviews and becoming quite popular. The one airflo rod I do own is a very good rod.
All the best.
Mike
