    BIG HORN MEMORIES

The parking lot is filled with boats and anglers, and the roar of the water coming through the afterbay dam mingles together in a cacophony of sounds that assaults the ears and stimulates senses. No matter how many times I launch a drift boat on the Big Horn River below after bay I am always filled with excitement and a sense of awe and appreciation of the privilege of having another day to fish this magnificent fishery.

    Neil:

Another great article, and now I have memories of the Big Horn, even though I have never been there!

Neil, great article, thanks for sharing. I have some fond memories of my first and only trip to the Big Horn a couple of years ago with my friend LaMoyne Hyde of Hyde Driftboats. It is a special place and I can attest to those big piles of midges, unbelievable!

Finally got there last April. Camped at Cottonwood; owls serenaded me to sleep at night and pheasants buzzed overhead in the morning while I made breakfast. Hatches were very sparse, even the midges; caught everything on scuds and zebras. Froze my a.. off, legs/feet went numb after a few minutes in the water below the dam; can't wait to get back again, beautiful country.

    Regards,
    Scott
