Just a little history lesson. Carp were brought to the US in the mid 1800's as an additional food source. Carp were/are a prized fish in Asia, England, Poland, as well as Austria. Somewhere down the road they got tagged as being a trash fish. I suspect that it is due to their great tolerance of different environs that native fish can not live in.

They are not as trashy as most American people are led to believe.

Hopefully this will enlighten some folks and dispell some of the rumors.
