    Default Two-Fer Wet Fly Swap Photos and Recipes.

    The flies are in the return mail as of noon today so I thought I'd post up the pics of the flies. I've asked everyone to post the recipe if it wasn't on the toe tag of their fly. In no particular order, here they are.

    Baillie's Black Spider by REE
    Hook: Daiichi 1640 size 14
    Thread: Pearsall's Gossamer Brown Silk waxed to Black
    Hackle: Well colored Starling Body Feather palmered 1/2 to 1/3 way down the body.



    Iron Blue Wingless by REE
    Hook: Daiichi 1110 size 14
    Thread: Pearsall's Gossamer Scarlet Silk waxed to Claret
    Hackle: Honey Dun Hen (Medium to light list and honey tips).
    Tail: Two Honey Dun Hackle Fibers
    Body: Natural Mole dubbed on silk. Allow silk to show for a few turns at the tail.

    Antennae: Spruce Grouse Flack Fibers
    Scud Back: Green
    Eyes: Silver Lined Red Seed Beads on 20# Mono to hold in place
    Dubbing: Blend of UV Ice Dubs; Dark Olive, Red, Yellow, Black at 4:1:1:1
    Rib GSP Tying Thread 2 Wraps per Segment
    Dub from each end to leave thread just to the right of eyes. Wrap ribbing and Tie off under tail. Cut tail 1/8" beyonf eye.

    Thank you! That particular fly is the one I reference in the thread on UV dubbing in the fly tying forum. A shot of blacklight on it and all of the body segment thread wraps absolutely glow!
