Classic salmon flies and classic steelhead flies are completely different animals. They are NOT similar and cannot be compared. It would be great to have a steelhead tying contest, but I am afraid there would be someone who would simply like to sissify steelhead flies into semi-salmon flies. This they are not and should not be merged.
