When I was a kid, we caught a couple nice catfish and took them home to eat. When we cleaned them, they each had a chunk of field corn (cob and all) in their stomachs. We'd had a heavy rain previously, and some corn plants had gotten washed into the river. Hard to picture how a catfish would shuck the ear to get at the corn cob.
