Smile MY Black Friday "shopping?" trip

Yesterday, my eldest Daughter had to work. My Bride & youngest Daughter went shopping. All this meant that Grandpa got to spend the day watching 6 yr old Tori, 5 yr old Twins Abbi & Lexi, & 4 yr old Michael. These young'ns have more energy than a battery factory (and they think Grandpa does too)!
    Here is my day...
    1) 8am..Arrived at their house.
    2) 8:15-9:00am..Enjoyed gourmet breakfast of Fruit Loops & milk.
    3) 9:00-11:00am..All chipped in & spotlessly cleaned their "trashed" playroom (after the promise of a "Chuck E Cheese" trip).
    4) 11:00-11:30am..All dressed themselves in their favorite play clothes.
    5) 11:30-11:50am..Dropped Mommy's lunch (which she forgot) off to her.
    6) 12:00..Arrived at Chuck E Cheese.
    7) 6:00pm..Headed for home after eating hot dogs, drinking many varieties of sugary soft drinks, climbing in that "ceiling maze", dropping a couple hundred tokens in a vast variety of electronic games/rides, then cashing in a few hundred tickets & exchanging them for trinkets.
Yep, SIX hours at Chuck E Cheese........PRICELESS!!
6:30pm..Dropped 4 happy, tired little munchkins off at home.

    Here comes the BEST part.....
    9) 7:30pm..Molly texted me the following statement from Tori..."Mommy, did you know before we were born that we would have the best Grandpa in the world?"
    10) 8:00pm An old man dried his eyes & dozed off after one of the greatest days of his life.

Sorry for the length of this post, but I HAD to share it.
    Mike

My daughter had to work so I took the 6 year old grandson fishing. The wind was howling, so we ended up fishing inside a covered dock with ultra-light spinning tackle. We caught several crappie, but most were on the small side. It still beat fighting the crowds out looking for deals at the stores.

Great Day! Had a happy ending too.

    Mike,
Great way to get worn out and absolutely "tired to the bone". Glad you were able to keep up.

The wife and I went to Wal-mart this morning during church here in GA (when nobody is at Wal-mart) to get some art and craft supplies and a few grocery items. We didn't get shot, tazed, pepper sprayed, or stabbed, and only one 60-something man tried to butt in front of my wife in line at the deli (my wife WAS the line at the deli...just waiting for the clerk to come back). I always get a kick out of this because these guys think they're going to have to deal with me, and I'm wearing a knee brace and walking with a cane these days. So it is happening a LOT all of a sudden. What they don't know is that my wife is a 5'9" 175 lb. military police officer who just got back from a year of catchin' and killin' terrorists in the big sandbox and she don't take no disrespect OR need any help! So I just smiled as he tried to give me his best "war face" (which was pretty pathetic) and stepped in front of us. Then my wife tapped him on the shoulder from his other side...

    Happy Holidays!
