I own virtually every casting video on the market. I have all the major ones and a few minor ones. If you are a beginner, you can't go wrong with Lefty or Joan or Mel. However, if you've got the basics down and want to improve your casting, George Roberts' Saltwater Fly Casting: 10 Steps to Distance and Power is head and shoulders above the rest. The other videos deal with casting principles, but Roberts is the only one that has an actual step-by-step program to get better. Yes, I know a lot of people will look at the title and say, "I don't fish in saltwater." Just ignore that, though. The video is all about perfecting the basic casting stroke. It applies as much to freshwater as to salt.
