I have owned all four of those rods and generally agree with the author. The Scott G series, especially the 8ft 4wt and the 8'5" 5wt have yet to be "replaced". I do agree with the previous post concerning the IMX which I happen to prefer to the GLX. A series of rods that would never garner such attention, but are still unparalleled even after 30 years of "development" are the Thomas and Thomas early graphite rods such as the Special Dry Fly and the rest of the XL series.
