...as the first round. That happens sometimes. Doc had to go really deep and hit the nerve as well as very close to the spinal cord. I am having some nerve pain but I sure am glad I took care of the nature call prior to being put on the table. Pain shot down both sciatic nerves to the toes. I have unable to do anything since Wednesday but at least I can sleep a bit better. Well it really takes about two weeks for the steroids to take full effect.

The procedure is three sets of three shots every six months. The series are given at two week intervals but we are holding the last series as an emergency reserve for as long as possible. Though I am having some difficulty with the second set I am greatly improved over what I was prior to having the procedure done. I highly recommend that those of you suffering from lower back pain talk to your doctors about having this done. Ask your doc to refer you to a spine clinic or specialist for back pain management in your area. They will determine what treatment is best for your situation. Bottom line is don't put it off. If you are having pain from disease or injury to your back you don't have to suffer so much. I will say though that the earlier you have it done the better the results will be.

It is really nice to have a doc that isn't afraid to try alternatives to surgery though she has told me that eventually I will have to have surgery. I am feeling good enough today to put the Christmas decorations out in the yard as well as work on the car a bit.
