Thanks. Thanks kind of you. Don't know where this will end up now. The docs are confusing me, but they've got me on some good drugs and cleared me to use the left arm normally for now. They think the problem may be mostly in my cervical spine, which is more in line with what all my previous docs have said. MRIs next week to confirm. I now have 2 top surgeons on it working together: a shoulder/knee specialist and a neck/spine specialist. So we'll see what they say in a couple of weeks. I have my knee surgery 12/1. That's supposed to be "simple."

Regarding the knee, flyguy, I can report that I had both my knees replaced last year and the results are wonderful, like being given a new life. The difference is particularly striking when wade fishing and doing the associated hiking and scrambling around crick stream banks. If you are weighing the option of a replacement, my advice is to go for it. ~pfa
