ScottP introduced me to this caddis pattern last year. Just wanted to thank him and give a tip of the hat to Walter Wiese for what has proven an excellent small caddis pattern on the water I fished this past summer. Follow the link for Wiese's youtube tutorial on tying this fly.

Yesterday the largest fish of the day ate one tied with a dubbed gray body and the Montana Fly Company Widow's Web wing in, what else? caddis brown, with Grizzly Hackle.

This fly meets my basic fly tying criteria - simple, easy to tie, durable, and effective. It floats well, and that wing is really easy to see in just about any conditions.

P.S. Does that fishy make you longsforcutts, Walter.
