I've just been reading about furled leaders after my local flyshop guy said "furled what?" and I came to a question I thought ya'll might have the answer to. . .

What, besides saving a couple bucks over tapered mono if you furl your own, is the advantage of a furled leader over tapered mono and/or knotted mono ?

I've read that they lay out better and give an uber-nice presentation on dries. . but I don't use too many dries. On streamers, terrestrials, and bass bugs, is there any real advantage ?

Thanks in advance for your replies.
