Default Hook and Hackle reel seat

Finally taking a break from building a few bamboo rods and putting together a graphite rod for someone. Ive been looking at the reel seat and wondering if it should be recessed into the grip. Anyone have any experience using this reel seat. Its the Pac Bay A-8 uplocking. I will also try and call H&H for some info. Its seems that they havent been answering phone calls lately for some reason. Any pictures of the rods built on this kit would be greatly appreciated too.

    Thanks,
    Richard (AKA Fireman)

The A8 is designed to be flush mounted and not recessed. If the OD of the cork is sufficient in size one could recess it , but with almost a 1" OD on the fixed hood the cork at the recess would be very thin.

I agree with Goduster. The OD of that hood is .985 which doesn't leave much cork with a "standard" full wells grip. My preference would be to inlet it, but that one would be tough.
