Thread: Tough Fish but Great Scenery (very pic heavy!)

Default Tough Fish but Great Scenery (very pic heavy!)

Did a new float a couple of states away on some water I have been eyeing for over 20 years. The area had just went thru 3 nights of very low temps and the fish responded predictably by coming down with a serious case of lock jaw (yes, I always have an excuse!). However, the weather and the river was so eye popping gorgeous that I didn't care. Great float on new water and met a new friend. My buddy who I fish with a lot is a part time guide and he owed a man a trip in his drift boat. I tagged along in my trusty Pack canoe. The client actually caught a 3lb smallie but I only caught 2 with the biggest going over a pound.

    Enjoy the pics!

I love catching brown bass. It has been toooo long since I had one on a line and never on a flyrod.

That's some beautiful country and stream also. I may have to sneak up across the state line and follow you around on the weekends.

UJ, for that float it will take 2 more state line crossings. However, we do have some smallies in SC. BTW, you got some in GA too. I'll send ya a PM where.

BTW, you are lucky to have them shoal bass in your rivers. I floated in GA and caught some and they are an absolute blast on the fly.

Agreed! I will get him from the north if you get him from the south.
