Very cool!
Thanks for this link...
Public and Private Libraries all over the World are now in the process of saving books in their archives over to various formats to be accessed over the internet. Most are free downloads, I have been downloading these books to my computer for transfer to CD's using the free "Adobe Reader" program for viewing.
The reason for this massive undertaking by the World's Libraries, is that time is slowly destroying these books that are over a hundred years old!
Many of these books where never published in large numbers, many only had less than a thousand ever printed, and those that have survived over time, ended up in private collections that were later donated to Universities with the death of their original owner.
Even the United States "Library of Congress" is in the process of converting decaying books and manuscripts to PDF that can be viewed and downloaded by the public!
Currently I have over a hundred PDF "Fly Fishing" related books on CD now....

Love that site - You can find all kinds of stuff there.
Excellent! Thanks for the link.
Randy,
Great link. Thanks to the read-on-line feature I was able to review The fly-fisher's entomology : illustrated by coloured representations of the natural and artificial insect, and accompanied by a few observations and instructions relative to trout-and-grayling fishing - Ronalds, Alfred. Because of the fine colored illustrations of natural insects and their imitations, I was able to find a first edition in fine condition for a mere $50. While many of the print on demand reproductions of the old books contain every word and all illustrations, the illustrations are usually a black ink blob that lack the beauty of the often hand colored illusttrations in the originals.
There's something about being able to hold one of the originals in your hand.
Thanks for sharing that link. It will probably help me spend my daughters inheritance.

Randy, thanks for posting that link.
Ron, thanks for the tip on that book, though I think your link is not quite right. Try this:

I have now downloaded this one myself. Can't wait to read it.

The Dry Fly and Fast Water is finally available. IMHO, one of the great classics of fly fishing techniques. I hope Theodore Gordon's book appears soon.

You just beat me to it Randy. I also use Calibre to manage the downloads. You can convert books that are not offered in Kindle format with it as well'
For those that fly fish the AuSable in MI there is a great chapter about Grayling written in 1879. It was in the days when the river was still full of Grayling.

I have been fortunate to acquire a few old classics , the dry fly in fast water and minor tactics of a chalk stream are a couple of my favvorites,
nothing like one of these good books in hand..
A computer program now sure makes those unobtainable now accessible to us all , a very good thing..
