Default Sage LL or SPL 2wts

I have been offered a choice of a Sage 279-2 LL or a Sage 282-3 SPL for helping someone out. Both rods are new in the tube and have never even been cast. I wont have the opportunity to try them.

I have a 379-3 and 490-4 LL, which are my favorite trout rods, so I have been leaning towards the LL. I cast the 0 and 1wt SPL when they came out but that was about 13 years ago I think.

I can't go wrong with either choice.

Any thoughts on LL and SPL 2wts such as preferred lines, performance at less than 15ft or between 15 and 30ft, or anything else..

Absolutely! I'd probably go with the LL. Since, you have a couple LL's and know how they cast, there wouldn't be any guessing as to how it performs. Also, the LL's have become a collector's items, so they're worth quite a bit. Man, i'm jealous! lol.

I understand the LLs are in demand. They are great finesse, dry fly rods.
