a simple tool for making nail knots


Material List
1 x shaped coffee starrier or straw type.
1? old flyline
Bobbin and thread
Heavy lace or heat shrink
Razor cutter


You can start this either in your hand or in the vice be careful not to damage it or make it so the part being held is to be cut off.
Next start thread and wrap three times place the fly-line in a loop in each side of the x and wrap tightly up and down
Than take cord and tit it is so that you have a 1.5? tag near loop wrap the cord down with the thread then back up whip finish the thread and trim tap.
Coat the tread with clear nail polish and wrap the cord up tightly tying it off with the tag you left carefully trim knot and coat with nail polish
Using razor trim to size and all done.

To use lay the leader and flyline in one channel wrap 8-10 times and slid through the other channel. Slide off carefully and pull tightly. Trim and all set.

That looks like a good one Char. For years now, I've used a short piece of spray tube from a WD-40 can. I keep it in my Wooly Bugger fly box.
