Hi Joel,
Wow! I am listening to it right now. I don't know if you ever listened to the band, but in a way it reminds me of a band called "Love Song" from the early 1970s. Not exactly the same mix, but the same nice feel of the music. My roommate in college and I listened to them all the time back then. Now they have brought the albums back on CD, I've got copies and still listen to them.
I play bass in our church band, and really appreciate some of the bass licks....very tasteful.
Thanks for posting.
Thanks and regards,
Gandolf
I remember Love Song. They were good.
I played the bass on my Fender Ashbory (a killer bass), going direct into a DA converter, (SONAR Power Studio) and into Mixcraft on my laptop. The acoustic guitar was my Ovation Celebrity Deluxe, the harmonica was my Lee Oscar (key of G), and the keyboard was my Yamaha PSR 9000. The drums were a loop from Mixcraft. The entire arrangement was recorded and mixed in Mixcraft, in my home office. I played all the instruments, except the drum loop.
I love modern software. 20 years ago, that song would've taken weeks, or months to record, mix and complete. I did it all in one afternoon.
I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for listening.
