Default BY ALL RIGHTS - Readers cast (Lew Cramer) - August 29, 2011

    BY ALL RIGHTS

By all rights I should never have become a fly fisherman. By heritage I'm born of Danish, German, and Welsh parentage. My grandparents migrated to the USA in the late 1800's, or early 1900's. There wasn't a fishing gene of any kind in their background. I was born in 1942 at the end of the depression, and my father had a real struggle just keeping his large family alive.

Lew, what a great read! Thanks for sharing. Now, for those of you who may be wondering what kind of a flyfisherman Lew has become, I submit this photographic evidence of his prowess, just a short distance from where he "enjoyed" his first ever camping trip.

Thanks guys, for your kind words and your tenacity in getting through it. Kelly, even a blind hog finds an acorn once in a while. This has been the most dismal year I've experienced since I picked up a long rod. Haven't had a line in the water yet this year. Hope to remedy that soon, and I don't even care if I catch anything. The ponds are calling.
    They're just fish, right? Right?
