Thread: fly and photo frame

    Default fly and photo frame

I'm looking for a picture frame that will hold a fly and a photo. The ones I found online already have the flies encased or are designed to hold multiple flies and photos. What I'm looking for is pretty simple, one fly and one photo. Size wise would be 3"x5" or 4"x6" thereabouts. Thanks.

Go to michaels, etc. And pick up a 4x6 box frame. They are clear acrylic boxes to hold a photo. Use a post card or something as the backing and cut a hole for the fly..bob's your uncle, you have a frame

    Sawdust and Stitches...GREAT quality.
Whether you think you can, or think you cannot, you're probably right.

If the fly isn't too thick, you can buy a double matted frame at Michael's, or other places, in the size you are looking for. I use them for Atlantic Salmon flies, the double matted style gives you enough depth to not flatten the fly, unless it is a big bushy dry or huge streamer type fly.

Great responses. Thanks. My dad hooked his finger big time and we saved the fly. I thought a photo and the fly would make a nifty gift from Santa.
    Cheers and thanks.
