Hook Question

I've been digging around trying to find a hook that will work for my foam poppers. I'd like to find something possibly 2x /3x long, wide gape and light wire. I've found a few that seem close, but appear to be heavier than I'd like.
Would appreciate your suggestions.

The 3366 is definitely not a light wire hook. There are some 2x long 1x fine wire dry fly hooks around. What size are you tying? There is the tmc (and copies) 200R which is light wire and 3X long, buy has a york bend which doesn't meet your wide gape criteria.

I bought some on Ebay that might work. I Googled around and found a dealer that sells them.

Do you want a kink-shank hook, or a straight shank? Mustad aberdeen style is a good fine wire/light-weight alloy hook with a wide gape and long straight shank. They are popular for cork-bodied poppers and jigs.

The aberdeen are generally OK for length, but I'm looking for something with a shade wider gape for more hook clearance from the bodies. The aberdeen can be used by making a slit in the bottom of the body to insert them, but I already have a hole thru the approximate center from turning the bodies to the shape I want. I can taper the bodies a bit more toward the rear to get clearance, but would prefer leaving as much foam as possible to help my bugs float a bit higher and more level.

p.s. higher floating and more level may not be important in the whole scheme of things, but....just a personal preference kind of thing.

Maybe we need to ask what species of fish you plan to use your poppers on and then let us make suggestions. A light wire hook on a bass popper might not work good for landing a bass due to it straightening out on you, but, a light wire hook on a bluegill would work out fine.
