The tip broke on mine. I'd like to replace the rod with the same kind.

Have you contacted Sage about their warranty?
I am sending the rod to Sage today and they said the turn around will be 5-6 weeks. I leave for Alaska in two weeks--Boo. I am partial to the RPL action and doubt they can find a substitute. I'm stuck in my ways but will adapt to whatever the outcome might be. Thanks, Ole
Sorry about the rod. I have the same one and have had to have either the tip replaced (twice), or the entire rod (once). The factory was very good about it, and you may be surprised at the turn around time, two weeks was the longest I ever waited. Good luck. You're right, there's nothing like the feel of the RPL.

The service is great, but it depends on whether they are still making the blanks - the LL blanks are no longer made, so we're really guarding ours.
There is one for sale over on the Washingtonflyfishing board:

I've got a factory Sage Graphite III RPL 890-2 in the original rod sock and aluminum tube. It is in great condition.
I have a guy who was supposed to make a trade with me but he has never delivered on his end of the deal. This morning I sent him an e-mail telling him he had 2 days to make contact with me or I was going to list the RPL 8wt for sale.
If you're interested, I can e-mail or PM you pictures of the rod. If the other guy does not respond to me by Thursday afternoon, I will sell the RPL I have. I'll ask $175.00 for it.
