Somewhere, i have read about a procedure to take the core out of old fly line, thus making it hollow, and using the colored coating as a strike indicator. I have tried strike indicators before, and i really don't like them that much, because I find them to be much harder to cast. And with a user name like mine, I don't need anything to make casting harder. I'm guessing that the small tubular shape of a small piece of fly line won't interfere with casting very much. However, I can't find the article on how to take the core out of the fly line. I think they soaked it in something, but I'm not sure. i have googled with no success and was wondering if any one here knows of a way to get the core out of an inch long piece of fly line.

thanks in advance,
