Default "Shark Caught Might be World Fly Record"

    Hello All,

Saw this in the Sunday Dallas Morning News:

"According to the International Game Fish Association, Martin Arostegui,a retired physician living in Coral Gables, Florida, may have landed the heaviest fish caught on a fly.

Arostegui, who owns more than 100 world-record catches, landed a 385-pound lemon shark on 12-pound tippet.

The fish measured 90 inches long by 49 inches girth. It was transported to scales in a special livewell, weighed and released."

    Cheers,

That's certainly a big lemon shark. I'm sure it was quite a fight.

But cruising around on a 29' boat, laying a slick of filleted 'cuda, casting at the open jaws of a shark, and then having four guys wrestle it onboard doesn't sound like "flyfishing," unless you're obsessed with world records.

Unfortunately for the doc, his tippet didn't test within its class.
