I made that bow from a hickory stave, with a hickory handle block, and backed it with rattlesnake skin. Hickory doesn't really need any backing. That particular bow is aprox. 75 pounds draw weight.

I want to try to make an Assyrian Horse Bow from horn and sinew, but I haven't gotten around to it, yet.

I make rabbit sticks, atlatls and slings as well.

Is that one of the bows you build? If so, well done. Do you ever use sinew to back your bows?
