    Bugman: I've never seen the lighter coloration in my neck of the woods, wonder if it's a regional thing.

    Kelkay: Fly Tyer had an easy Cicada pattern a few years back, poly dubbed body, black foam wing with crystal flash underneath and rubber legs.

    Wayne, I will have to look that up. Thanks. I made a quick foam one the other night. Kinda cool, but I don't know how it would work.

    Hi Bugman;

    A link to the pattern??

    Other than the choice of dubbing (in this case crystal chennile was substituted for dubbing), this is the closest I've seen on line to the pattern i saw in a Fly Tyer magazine about two years back.

    I am thankful the hatch is over here in Middle Tennessee.

    They will drive you nuts with that high pitch chirping sound they can make for about 4 to 6 weeks 24/7, the decimal level of that chirping is incredible and last from sun up to sun down. When driving down the road it was like getting hit by birds, your car would be covered with cicadas, you surely didn't see to many motorcycles on the road during the hatch I will say one good thing about the cicadas, the fishing was good!

    Have fun with the Cicadas, glad there gone

    I like the sound they make... Our magnolia tree by the house gets covered in them...
