    It's probably one of the things I will never get to do but a carrier takeoff has to be about as much fun as a person can have, unless its aerobatics ( which would make me extremely ill, but even Chuck Yeager got sick the first time he flew.)

    I've always been jealous of what those rocket jockeys can do. It must be tough being able to tell which way is UP after a while.

    Neat stuff. I would love to take a ride on one. The part that would scare the daylights out of me is the landing. Catching the wire on a moving, bobbing ship has got to be one of the scariest things going.

    It is my understanding they hit the deck with preparations for that possibility with the throttle pushed to full open. As tough as task as it is today, think how difficult it was in 1942-45 before computers, some with some flight controls shot away, almost out of fuel.
