Default At last, some new hoppers

Found a picture of a new hopper pattern without a recipe, so I decided to a shot at it, and I think they came out rather well.

I think they came out very well. Would you describe the technique a little, please?
    Thanks,

The rear is just two pieces of foam glued together; I then tied the segments with thread, whip-finishing each one so it was independent.
Then i put on some bead chain eyes. Then I put a strip of foam (same width has rear body) over the eyelete, long enough to make two segments (one for the eyes, one behind.) The foam was then pulled back and tied down behind the eye, and at the spot where the rubber legs connect, and voila.

They look great ! But just a suggestion : you might try adding some deer hair or calf tail ( or somthing ) for a wing on a few.

Yeah, my initial thought. They look grea!t But have they been cast yet?
My initial thought is that w/o a wing, these things will land upside down - especially if the bead chain eyes are up top.

I took them out yesterday, and they caught 2. Casting wasn't a big issue; less than half of the time it flipped on it's side.
But today I tied one with wings, watcha think? The wing is supreme hair with some black flash, and plastic bag material over-top of that, though it normally hugs the wing material (as the photo doesn't show.)
