    Default "PANFISH" Archives

I finally finished, converting the "Panfish" archives into PDF, to be included as part of a future FAOL "Featured Articles" CD.

My calculations show that there should be 605 articles. After converting all the articles in the archives, I have only 546 "Panfish" articles. That is the sad news.

I use the url addresses for each of the articles, instead of the the articles "Part" number for proper sequence in the listing. I found some of the articles, under the listing for another article that is now missing.

The good news is that many of the missing "Panfish" articles where re-run at a later date, so the number of missing "Panfish" articles is much less than the 59 missing articles by my calculation.

Many of the Panfish articles have fly patterns with photos and name of the fly pattern as well as the material list. I have added those to a folder I have for the the FAOL Fly Pattern CD folder, as Other FAOL Fly Patterns. You would not believe how many fly patterns there are in the "Our Man in Canada" archives!

The Panfish arhives are now listed in my PDF folder by ...
    • Articles (chronological order)
    • Series (articles that have many parts)
    • Writers
Thirty -one writer that have contributed articles to Panfish column over the years, the writer with the most "Panfish" articles is Rick Zieger, with 337 Panfish articles. ~Parnelli

    Hi Steve,

You certainly deserve a round of applause from all the "Warm Water FAOLers." Your service has certainly been above and beyond the call of duty. Volunteers, like yourself are truly the heart and soul of FAOL. While I'm at it, I would also like to give Ron Ziegler another round of applause. I was looking for a particular article in the archives the other day and I was just absolutely in awe of the number of pieces that Rick has written. I've been here since 2003 and I've read Rick's articles week after week but to see them more or less lined up like that is still absolutely amazing. The amount of information that Rick has shared should make bass, brim, and crappies fear him all across America. Thank you both! 8T

More kudos for Steve and Rick. Steve, I hurt for you just a little knowing that you aren't taking advantage of summer up there to catch some fish.

Steve: thanks for all your work compiling the panfish archives, also thanks for the CD you sent me this spring of the archives of FAOL, a great resource.

Rick Z: the guru of panfishing, your fishing exploits give me a goal to obtain and eventually surpass, and a prolific writer to boot!

Thanks for all the work you two perform for the rest of us!
