got out Thursday from 0700 to about 1100 walking the rocky shore on Lake St Clair (Huron Point Metro Beach) and picked up 41 fish. A variety of LM,SM, Sheephead, Rockbass and perch. In my ongoing attempt to turn my buddy to the dark side he said he went out the night before throwing spinners and managed one white bass between 2 people. I picked up one LM on a clouser and after a half hour of casting changed to some bottom creatures. That was it, picked up the rest in short order. Used a fly called a backstabber (pictured below) and rocked the sheephead. Throw it out beyond the snags and rocks and wait for the fish to grab it. Awesome day. When the action slowed all you had to do was move a couple feet and get right back into the fish. Said I would stop at 40 and go home, last cast threw out to spool my line line and bam!, rockbass to round out 41.
Needless to say my buddy was a bit speechless.
