One of the guides down at a shop that sends me a LOT of repair business wanted Dad's bamboo rod freshened up.

It's an older Sport King M133.

This is what I started with.

I stripped everything off, cleaned up the blank, straightened as much as I could, and refinished with wipe-on polyurethane. The reel eat hardware is DL5 with a tulip wood insert. I turned a Fenwick style grip for it. The agate stripper and new guides are wrapped down with Candy Apple nylon tipped with black, no CP. I had to reset the ferrules and once they were cleaned up, they fit fine again. Not the quality of some of our builders here, but it will get fished and enjoyed.
