Any chance it can drive itself to work, do my job, then deliver my paycheck to me at the river? Could it stop off at Arby's and get me a sandwich on the way to the river?
If it swims and eats, it'll eat a fly.
The technology is amazing, with all the sensor to keep from hitting pedestrians, animals, etc., that is probably more complex to build and operate than the drones the military is using. I am not sure it would be safe to mix a car that makes the correct lawful decision every time with ordinary drivers, who frequently do otherwise.
Want to hear God laugh? Tell him Your plans!!!
They use to have a show on Discovery ch last year for awhile about these driverless cars and the teams competing to build them. After watching that show and seeing all the cars crash on every episode I think I'll stick to good old fashioned human drivers myself lol. Pretty neat technology though, but I doubt they would ever be made a realistic option for the general public because liability would be way too much of a concern. One accident caused by a computer glitch and the company would be sued back to the stone age.
