Went up towards the headwaters of one of the local rivers, thinking the smaller tributaries may not be as high and off color as the mainstems are right now. The rivers haven't been fishable for more than a month now (well, they are technically fishable, just very high and muddy). Got up to the trailhead and the clouds were hanging low, which I thought could be a good sign for a bwo hatch. Laced up the boots and headed down the trail towards the creek. Unfortutnately, when I reached the creek, I saw it was also very high and muddy. There are a number of beaver ponds around, so I figured I would try my luck on those. Fished for a few hours, but didn't see a single rise or shadow move in the creek. Water is just too turbid still. Hopefully it will heat up soon and the run-off will finish doing its thing.
