Being in Venice in two months prompted me to make one of my favorite Italian dishes. Clams in a white sauce with fettuccine and a side of french cut green beans. Of course washed down with a fine german lager

Looks GREAT, ALMOST like my version.
I start with the bacon and onions ( garlic doesn't work in mine), After a good saute of the onions, I add the cabbage ( sometimes SAVOY) and also a bag of WELL RINSED sourkraut and a 1/2 tsp of caraway seed Then I cook it forever till all is very soft. Great as a side dish for breaded pork chops or...............baked ham or..................sausages or.................whatever PORK.
I do reserve some of the sourkraut juice just in case ( to taste) and also add a few thin sliced carrots for color duting cooking.

It was like Gordy's was fishing for me yesterday. I walked through the seafood area and Bay Scallops were on Manager's Special. Off I went with 2 bags. Seafood soup base is in the crock pot already this morning.

Italian parsley, 2 white onions, one can mild rotel, 2 cans petite diced tomatoes, 3 heaping teaspoons of diced garlic.and 50 ounces of chicken broth and some pepper.

    Later comes scallops/shrimp/clams/mussels/okra/crab meat

    Vegetable and Chicken Soup

Yellow Squash, Zucchini, Carrot Sticks, Chopped Spinach, Baby Brussel Sprouts, Celery, Parsley, White Large Onion

All in pot half full with chicken broth and salt and pepper and 2 heaping teaspoons of minced garlic with mushrooms and slow cooking on the stove.

The chicken is baking in the oven and will be added later after bones removed.
