    Default 2 Lines-9wt floating, 9wt full sink (for Outerbanks surf), also spool for Ross CLA4

    I can be somewhat patient (especially for the spool & sinking line), but I'm hoping (aka "needing") to find a great buy on a quality 9wt line. I just bought an Echo Ion 9' 9wt rod & need to match up a line.
    A question as well...I found a Sage Performance Taper II for $35.00. How would that be in this heavy a line? I have it in a 4 wt (which I LOVE) but wondering how the 9wt might perform on a rod this fast?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

    Hello,

    I have a SA Mastery lazer line 9WF Floating in excellent condition I would sell cheap at $25.00 shipped to you. I also have a NIB SA Striper sinking line IV I would sell for $37.50 shipped. Buy them together for $60.00.

    An #8 Sage Equator Taper weighs in alot closer to a #9 weight line on an Umpqua fly line scale, so it might be just what you wanted !

    Ohiotuber;

    Are you going for some of those Puppy Drums ?? I have many great memories of those trips to the Banks. Follow the gulls, they know where the fish are. (North Side)

    Jed....This rod is pretty fast, so I'll have to go with a 9wt line. Thanks & good to see you posting again!! (see below).
    MSD...We'll be there last week in July, so we'll see, but this baby ought to handle those OBX winds well. I would LOVE to get into some puppy drums. I treasure some great deceivers that Jed sent me some years ago....THIS year will equal SUCCESS!!! (so far my only conquest in the salt is a "deceiver sized" pompano).
