North Carolina trip???s

We are going to be spending a week in Boone, NC, the first week of June. My wife is taking an art class, and I hope to do some serious fishing. I was wondering if anyone if familiar with the area, and can point me to some good spots. Trout or bass - I'll be prepared for either one.

Also, I would like to line up a day trip with a local outfitter. Just poking around on the web, I've spotted a couple of them in Boone. Anyone familiar with any of the shops in the area that could recommend one?

Finally, any advice on what to have in my fly box would be great. The hatch charts I've found will get me started, but I was wondering if there are any special local patterns that would be good for that time period.
