    Default Virginia Brown Trout

    I just saw on the news that Virginia game and fisheries is calling the Brown Trout an invasive species.

    Yeah they don't like'm here cause from what I'v heard is that they eat Brookie"s, but don"t drop everything and run down here to catch"m cause from a catching stand point, there ain't that many of them...
    "Because by the Grace of God I can, be on a beautiful mountain stream with a friend , have the water boil from a 12" Native Brookie taking a self tyed dry,and feel it on the end of my cane... It don't get no better than that..."

    TU Chapter helped the state stocking truck put all browns into three miles of Delayed Harvest waters last week in a local Virginia river. It's an urban fishery so no brookies are there and it gets too warm for much of any holdovers in late summer; so, it reverts to "catch & keep' after May 31st.
