Default Hug your kids...right now...even if they are asleep

My best friends and I have been together since we were 5.

I just got word that one of my best friend's daughter died from an asthma attack early this morning. She was 6. She won't get to repeat my opening statement...

    Hug your kids...right now!

Tell them you love them... a lot!

Forgive your kids for any perpetrations they have done up to this point...verbally, subconsciously, totally, and unconditionally.

I have no way of understanding how his family feels right now...and I live 5 hours away, and can't be there for him.

    Tearfully,
    Mike

When you do see or talk to him, let him know that all of us here are praying for him and his family.
    Thank you.

    Mike,
My prayers go out to them & to you as well.
When our youngest Daughter Maggie was in high school, 3 years in a row one of her classmates lost a parent or sibling. To this day, Maggie NEVER ends any visit, phone call, or communication without saying "I love you". She does so as she believes (rightly so) that any of us could be gone at any time. The rest of us in the Family have learned this from her & we practice it as well.
    God Bless,
    Mike

When I seen the title of this thread I knew I didn't want to read it.

Thoughts and prayers from NW Washington to the family. Not even knowing the child or family I still have tears in my eyes and sadness in my heart.

This is kind of piling on but reinforces the fact we need to continue to hug them even when they are grown. My 29 year old daughter called us this afternoon to tell us her roommate's girlfriend had found his body in the yard of their duplex this morning. He had taken his life. Please remember his family, the Bishops, his friends in your prayers.

Our daughter had been planning to move back in with Mom and Dad, I think this will move up the schedule a couple of months.

Thanks for the thoughts. I have spoken with him and passed them along.

Still didn't know what to say to him...and still don't. This isn't supposed to happen.

The worst thing for a parent is to out live your children. I don't know what I would do if one of my children died or was killed. I don't have a good relationship with them for a number of reasons but, I still love my children whether they know it or not.

My prayers also go out to your life long friend and also to you. I to have a life long friend and I happen to be the God-Father to his daughter and would not want anything to happen to her. All the best to your friend and you

This is always such sad news. Pass on condolences and my sympathy to your friend and his family in their time of need.
