Thread: crab bomb design settled...

    Default crab bomb design settled...

I field tested all the prototypes and did some adjustments to shape and underside...the results have been stelluar so now to test on fish...this is the design I will stay with...it has a deadly "fall" and several trigger points and it looks real in the water for the most part...

Man, Cordell, that little beastie looks pretty amazing!

Here are some pictures of the floating crab that I tied using two different colors of foam. I did my best to draw the underside of a crab with a sharpie, and I don't know what happened to the eyes, but you should get the picture anyway. I hope you can use this idea, it certainly floats pretty well. I think it is a 1/0 mustad saltwater hook, might be a 2/0. I used rubber bands for the legs and pincers.

Thank You...I still have ideas to improve upon but for now these will do...I fully expect them to last all yr, they are bullet proof...you cant even tear the paddles off if you tried...now I must find fish to cast them to...I seen a permit well over 30lbs yesterday but didnt get a shot...

Holy moly, I'd love a chance at a permit someday. I caught a nice pompano a few years ago in the Venice area, unreal how hard it pulled, can only imagine a good sized permit.
