Hi,
I have always been intrigued by the USD (upside down) patterns as I think they are the fly to "go to" when you see really picky fish.

Added a Blue Winged Olive dun sized 16
Byron,
Wow! Honestly, those are some very nice bugs, and I agree with your assessment! What are you using for the bodies on those? Biots? Btw, stole both your pics!
Best regards, Dave S.
I could be very wrong but I remember a funnel dun as having "hackle" 360 degrees around the hook....with the "hackle" tips out way over the eye.

That was the original pattern
Byron:
You posted your "Funnel Dun Pale Morning Dun" on Thursday, and on Sunday it is already on "Google"!

The "Funnel Dun" is a new type of "Emerger" fly pattern, that I was not aware of until I saw your posting and your photos.
I believe that your photos should be used in a FAOL "Fly Of The Week" article....
Currently I am still working on my own FAOL "Fly Of The Week" article for the "Gold Ribbed Hare's Ear (Dry Fly)", sent out some Beta patterns to Donald Nicolson and Eric Austin, and they were very impressed not only with my version, but the Gold Ribbed Hare's Ear (Dry Fly) that a member of this years Beginner's Only Fly Swap dressed.
I looked at the other "Funnel Dun" url listings, and I like your pattern versions the best, well done! ~Parnelli
Here is the "You Tube" vidio of Davie MacPhails "Funnel Dun" Funnel Tube demonstration...
