USCG 1987-2008, served (somehow) in over 30 countries worldwide, as well as Maine, Alaska, Nevada, New Mexico, Virginia, Florida, etc. Chief Electronics Technician- was OIC of my last three units. In the CG, OIC isn't like an NCOIC in the Army where whenever 3 Soldiers are standing around they need an "OIC"... in the sea services OIC is a designated Command. Just had to dig a little because I work with a bunch of former Soldiers now.
