First open water fish of 2011. Only caught this and a bass about 14" but there was still ice on half the pond. Pond has an aerator and wind was hitting it. Most are a good week off yet.

Got out today finally as well. Caught a few gills, all way smaller than your crappie, though. The ice is finally pretty much gone here.
If it swims and eats, it'll eat a fly.

Very nice fishing. Now if I could only break away I have got to send some line flying.

Way to go! Ponds that I fished last week that were approaching 40% ice-free....have since returned to 100% ice covered. Still....open water here CAN'T be far away!

we still have 18" of ice herebu the rivers are starting to open up. Thinking of pike fishing friday.
