The best way to get into the chat for now, is to go to the top of the bulletin board pages where it say "Home" "Forum" "Blogs" "What's New" and "Chat". Clicking on that chat link will take you straight in.

The current chat is a 'placeholder' - we are looking for a better one. The one was had deteriorated over time and became difficult to get into some of our hosts were having fits with it. Don't give up on us, but we can't do everything we want to at once. Thanks!
I found the same problem when I first went to the home page. Also had a difficult time finding the registration page for the Forum. Had a few FAOL friends walk me through it. It would be a real shame to lose new members over a few simple links. Glad to see a fix is in the works.

One thing that several of us liked about the last chat was being able to see that someone was replying. That seemed to keep the conversation flowing evenly. Now the chat seems a bit fragmented, people jumping on top of each other,interupting, etc. The members that frequent the chat room are, in general, a very civilized bunch, we have a lot of fun, get to know one another, excange some good ideas (Not always!!). We have some young 'uns that seem to have no problem hanging out with us "Old Duffers". If they heed our sage advice is yet to be seen, but at least they listen.
