Fly fishing and fly tying are two things that I do, and when I am doing them, they are the only 2 things I think about. They clear my mind.

Not really my type of fly, but a beautiful fly and instructional video.
It is a pike fly? I have supposed. I hear that the Nederlands is one
of the very best Northern Pike venues in the world.

In his case I would say that yes it is a pike fly. around here we catch bass on them also.

    Wonderful tutorial.

The DD is the one fly I fish that I have never tried tying. The trimming has been too intimidating (my Dave's Hopper heads are not a thing of beauty).

the video is excellent but even with the excellent instruction it looks to be a bit more complicated than i usually tie. i love it when spun deer hair turns out right and hate it (for me more often than not) when they turn out bad.

I can't say about fly fishing but there's a lot of feed lots in Kansas.

As a related note...Larry Dahlberg will be presenting on Saturday of the annual Hawkeye Fly Fishers Association meeting in Des Moines, Iowa. The meeting runs Feb 25-27.
I am not currently a member of HFFA, nor have I been a member in the past....but I'm familiar with them. They do good things.
Here's a link to some info...

There should be 3 attachments in that post, relating to the HFFA event. Hopefully you will be able to view them.
