Default breathable wader neoprene stocking foot...

    ...question

i wear a size 7 1/2 street shoe and would like to know from folks who have the same size, what size stocking foot have you bought?

    7-9 or 9-11?

i usually buy the 9-11 and even with a nice wool sock, i have to shove the excess neoprene bootie into my oversized wading boots and that is down right uncomfortable.

i'm thinking of going to patagonia waders simply because they come in "short" and the booties can be custom for an additional cost.

anybody else have this problem and how did you resolve it??

it tough to be a short, portly, small footed (but big hearted) person

When I worked in the fly shop I advised customers to bring in the socks they intended to wear and if they already had wading shoes to bring them along. I was very successful at fitting waders. You are going to ware them all day long and sometimes for several days in a row. They should be a comfortable fit.

I would advise you to take your stuff to the shop and get a custom fit.

I to o have a 7.5 foot and searched high and low but, could not find any with the right size bootie. I finally settled on breathables with built in rubber boots by Snowbee

I don't have the same exact problem, Normand, but one similar. To get waders to match my girth, I usually have to settle on booties that are suitable for NBA players. Cramming all that extra neoprene and sock into my wading boots made for some uncomfortable days wading. Thought about getting Simms with a custom bootie, but a sharp sales girl led me to some Hodgeman Wadelites that had booties that fit my size 8 foot and my girth both. What a blessing. They have held up well for the last two years.
Happiness is wading boots that never have a chance to dry out.
