I too have read the note about the individual laying his out on his deck rail. I don't recall how long he said he made them.

I use a double so that I can twisting two different color threads together.
For "camouflage" leaders the V-setup is also useable. For a spiraled pattern i suppose i'd have to add an extra peg.

I may be the individual you all are talking about. "Heritage Angler" (a member here) had contacted me quite some time ago and asked if I would make him a furled leader for his new Tenkara rod and I did not want to re-do my board or make a new one up just for one furled leader, so, I used the back deck floor. I just used finish nails for pegs and layed one out for him. Now I cannot remember how long of one I made. I think it was somewhere between 10' and 13'. He said it worked out good for him.

Fly fishing and fly tying are two things that I do, and when I am doing them, they are the only 2 things I think about. They clear my mind.
Back Porch Engineering VS Rocket science, and the winner is??
Being a non-fuler, I love to read these posts. I haven't a CLUE what y'all are talking about and that's OK with me Apparently you're having fun.
